Privacy Policy
Last updated: 20 May 2026
Overview
We respect your privacy and aim to be transparent about how we handle your information. This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.
It works alongside our Cookies Policy, which explains how we use cookies and similar technologies on our website.
Who we are
This website is operated by Shiba Limited (trading as Ripple), a company registered in New Zealand. For the personal data we collect through this website, we are the data controller. We comply with the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020, and where applicable, the UK and EU GDPR.
You can contact us at privacy@ripple.uno.
What data we collect
We collect personal data in two ways: information you give us directly, and information collected automatically when you visit our site.
Information you give us directly. When you submit a form on our website, such as a newsletter signup, partnership request, general enquiry, sales enquiry, enhancement request, support request or free trial signup, we collect the information you provide. This typically includes your name, email address, organisation, role and any details you choose to include in your message. Some forms ask for additional information relevant to that specific request.
Information collected automatically. When you browse our website, we may collect limited technical information such as your IP address, browser type, device type, the pages you visit and how you found us. We use this to understand how the site is performing and to improve it. Some of this is collected through cookies and similar technologies, which are covered in our Cookies Policy.
We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under the age of 16.
How we use your data
We use the data we collect to:
respond to your enquiries and provide the information, support or services you've requested;
manage your free trial or paid subscription, if applicable;
send you marketing communications, but only if you've opted in to receive them (you can unsubscribe at any time);
connect you with one of our regional partners, if your enquiry is from a region we cover and a referral is relevant;
understand how our website is used and improve it over time;
comply with our legal and regulatory obligations.
We do not use your data for automated decision-making or profiling that has legal or similarly significant effects on you.
Who we share your data with
We do not sell your personal data, and we never share it for unrelated marketing purposes.
We may share your data with:
Our regional partners, where your enquiry comes from a region they cover and a referral is relevant to your enquiry. Our partner network is updated from time to time as we expand into new regions.
Service providers, we rely on to operate our business. This includes our website platform (Framer), the tools we use to capture and route enquiry data (currently including Google Workspace), our customer database and marketing tools (currently including HubSpot, and others we may add over time), and any analytics or advertising platforms we use. These providers process data on our behalf, under contract, and only for the purposes we've engaged them for.
Authorities or other third parties, where we are required to by law, or where it's necessary to protect our rights, our customers or the public.
Some of our service providers are based outside New Zealand, the United Kingdom and the European Economic Area, including in the United States. Where personal data is transferred internationally, we rely on the safeguards required by applicable law, such as the UK and EU standard contractual clauses, and where relevant, the EU-US and UK-US Data Privacy Framework.
How we store and protect your data
We store your data securely, with access limited to authorised personnel and our service providers, on a need-to-know basis. We apply appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data against loss, misuse, unauthorised access and disclosure. See our Security Statement for more details.
We retain personal data only for as long as we need it for the purpose it was collected. For example, enquiry data is kept while we're in active contact with you and for a reasonable period afterwards in case you come back to us. Marketing contacts are retained until you unsubscribe or request removal. Trial and customer data are retained for the duration of the relationship and for a limited period thereafter to meet legal and tax obligations. After that, the data is deleted or anonymised.
In the unlikely event of a data breach that affects you, we'll notify you and the relevant authorities in line with the laws that apply.
Legal basis for processing (UK and EU visitors)
If you're located in the United Kingdom or the European Union, our legal bases for processing your personal data under the UK GDPR and EU GDPR are:
Consent, when you opt in to marketing communications or to non-essential cookies.
Performance of a contract, when we process your data to deliver a service or trial you've signed up for.
Legitimate interests, when we process your data to operate, improve and promote our business, where doing so doesn't override your rights and interests. Examples include responding to enquiries, basic website analytics and security.
Legal obligation, when we have to process data to comply with the law.
Your rights
Depending on where you're located, you have rights over the personal data we hold about you. These typically include the right to:
access the personal data we hold about you;
request that we correct or delete your data;
withdraw your consent at any time, where we rely on consent;
object to or restrict our processing of your data in certain circumstances;
request a portable copy of your data;
complain to a data protection authority (in the UK, this is the ICO; in the EU, your national supervisory authority; in New Zealand, the Office of the Privacy Commissioner).
To exercise any of these rights, please email privacy@ripple.uno. We'll respond within the timeframes required by the laws that apply to you.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The 'Last updated' date at the top of this section will always reflect the most recent version. If we make material changes, we'll do our best to let you know directly, for example, by email if you're an active customer or subscriber.
